REASON FOR THE INVESTMENT PLAN
Due to the lack of demand on the bitumen market in winter, the Litvínov refinery produces Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) with 3.5% sulphur content. However, the IMO regulation allows the use of HFO with a maximum sulphur content of 0.5%. Therefore, the Litvinov plant has decided to discontinue the production of TTO and switch to continuous production of valuable cold asphalt with high storage flexibility.
UNIS ACTIVITIES
During implementation, we will build on the BDEP documentation we prepared in 2022 along with the documentation for the building permit. We will now be preparing full detail design documentation in all professions.
The essence of the project is the supply and installation of two units. A unit for cooling and filling of bitumen into special high-capacity bags (CPU - Cooling and Packing Unit) and a unit for back-melting of bitumen (BMU - Bitumen Melting Unit). The filling capacity reaches 20 tons /h of two types of 50/70 or 70/100 road bitumen.
The contract includes production and delivery of pressure apparatus, pumping station, new electrical substation, reconstruction of storage tanks for bitumen, installation of electrical, I&C, addition of control system, construction of large-capacity storage facilities and service roads with dispensing points. Commissioning and test operation will follow the completion of the installation works.
The project is supported by the Austrian company Poerner (Licensor).
The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
